East Asia Super League round 9 best performance: Darryl Monroe (by Hoops Agents)

American Darryl Monroe (202-C/F-1986) had a great game in the last round for top-ranked Seoul SK Knights, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 9.
The 39-year old player had a double-double of 20 points and 13 rebounds, while his team beat Fubon Braves (#2, 2-2) 88-79. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. It allowed Knights to take over top position in the East Asia Super League. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost that single game earlier this season. Seoul Knights has a very solid 3-1 record, but they cannot be too comfortable about keeping top position. In the team's last game Monroe had a remarkable 70.0% from 2-point range. He turned to be Knights' top player in his first season with the team. Former George Mason University star has very solid stats this year. Monroe is in league's top in rebounds (8th best: 10.8rpg) and averages impressive 68.8% FGP and 71.4% from behind 3-point line.

The second best player in last round's games was young American Troy Gillenwater (205-F-1988) of league's second-best Taipei Fubon Braves. Gillenwater had a very good evening with 26 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists. Bad luck as Fubon Braves lost that game 93-103 to slightly lower-ranked HK Eastern (#3, 1-2). It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. Fubon Braves still maintains its place in the top 2 of the standings, even despite this loss. His team's 2-2 record is not bad at all. Gillenwater is a newcomer at Fubon Braves, but is already one of team's top players.

Third on the list of top players last round was American forward Cameron Clark (201-F-1991, agency: Slash Sports) of Hong Kong Eastern Long Lions (#3). Clark scored 24 points and grabbed 8 rebounds. He was a key player of HK Eastern, leading his team to a 103-93 win against #2 ranked Fubon Braves. The chances of HK Eastern not to end season at such low position in the league, however are less than slim as they have already lost 2 games, recording just one victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Clark could try to bring HK Eastern's a little bit higher in the standings. Clark has a very solid season. In 2 games in East Asia Super League he scored 23.0ppg.
